When the day is done at any given military-simulation event
or scenario game, it is after all just a game. As much as we enjoy it and make
the most of the simulation, we are able to go home and enjoy our lives with
our families. But within our borders and overseas, men and women have sacrificed
tremendously to afford us these pleasures and our freedom. If not for them,
none of this would be possible as we know it. Their sacrifices do not go unnoticed
by The Dogs of War. We are committed to supporting those who protect our freedom
and liberties.
The Dogs of War have adopted Operation Homefront as its lead
charity. While men and women serve overseas, their families must stay behind,
forced to get by with less. We can't substitute the love and support of a family
member, but it is possible to assist in times of need. Through Operation Homefront,
we can help those families here at home and make a difference. Many of our Operators
are veterans and first responders. We feel strongly about giving back to those
that have sacrificed so much for us all.
As mentioned before, we are not just ambassadors for paintball,
but Ambassadors of Goodwill. That is why we share the game with those less fortunate
than ourselves. When you see a child's face light up because they are walking
next to you, listening to their own radio set and feeling like they are in an
action movie, it makes it all worthwhile. At least once a season, we endeavor
to bring children in need from all walks of life out to play with us and enjoy
something different. OK, so maybe on those days we don't strive to dominate
the field and crush the opposition, but instead we show the children what it
means to be a part of a band of brothers
to have responsibilities
to
make a difference
and to just have fun. To let them know and see for themselves
firsthand that there are options out there and that they as individuals matter.
That is why we bring inner city kids and orphans out to see another side of
things. It's not just about us. It's about what we do that makes a difference
in others.
If each person can care more about the person beside him than
he does himself, and each person does the same, we will all benefit immensely.
That is at the core of The Dogs of War's Creed and it extends off the field
as well.
